I've done a few EV projects over the years and used to
be involved with EV racing in the US for several years. My best
vehicle to date has been a VW Scirocco conversion, but it's 1200 Kg
of vehicle to move just one person around. A few years ago I obtained
my motorcycle licence and have a collection of Moto Morinis. I
decided however that it was about time I built an electric motorcycle.
Eventually I'd like to build a TWEV (two wheeled
electric vehicle) from the ground up incorporating hub centre
steering, lithium batteries, a recumbent seating position and
substantial or fully enclosed bodywork.
In the mean time I've started converting a
conventional motorcycle, despite the fact that the aerodynamics
actually make for quite a poor range.
